Why we exist
There's a gap in the AI market that almost nobody is filling well. Large enterprise software companies like ServiceNow, SAP, and Salesforce have powerful AI capabilities — but they're built for organizations with dedicated IT teams, multi-year implementation timelines, and seven-figure budgets.
On the other end, there are simple point solutions: a chatbot, an automation tool, an AI email assistant. Useful, but they don't move the needle on operational leverage.
Growth-stage companies — the ones at $5M to $100M in revenue, scaling fast, operationally stressed — fall between these two worlds. They need real AI expertise and real implementation, not a platform license and a user manual.
That's what we're built for.
How we think about AI
AI creates value in two ways: it eliminates work that shouldn't require humans, and it makes the decisions that do require humans faster and better-informed. Most companies are underinvesting in both.
We start every engagement with a diagnostic question: where is this company spending human time on work that shouldn't require human judgment? The answer is almost always the same — customer intake, internal approvals, data aggregation, follow-up, scheduling, reporting. These are the highest-leverage AI opportunities in most organizations, and they're the ones we attack first.
Once the operational wins are captured, we layer in decision support: AI that surfaces the right information at the right time so the people making consequential decisions are doing so with better inputs.
What we believe
Outcomes over outputs
We're not here to build AI for the sake of building AI. Every engagement has a defined business outcome — cost reduction, revenue capture, cycle time improvement — and we're accountable to it.
Speed matters more than polish
A working AI deployment in six weeks creates more value than a perfect architecture delivered in six months. We bias hard toward shipping and iterating.
You own what we build
We don't create platform dependencies. What we build runs in your systems and is operated by your team. We leave with documentation and trained people, not an open retainer.
Domain knowledge is non-negotiable
Generic AI templates fail in specialized industries. We go deep in the verticals we work in — and we don't take engagements in industries we don't understand.
The Alterra Holdings model
Alterra AI is the consulting and implementation practice. Alongside it, Alterra Holdings builds dedicated vertical AI brands — each focused on a specific industry, each staffed by domain specialists. When a client's needs fit a vertical, we route them there. When the need is cross-functional or doesn't fit an existing vertical, the consulting practice takes it directly.
Vertical Brands
Dedicated AI companies for specific industries — like Gold Rose Studio for florists. Deep domain expertise, specialized products, industry-specific deployment.
Consulting Practice
Cross-functional AI consulting and implementation for companies that need expertise across their entire operation, not a vertical point solution.
Investor Partnerships
Preferred AI assessment and deployment partner for VC and PE firms looking to create operational value in portfolio companies.
